Post Modern Apocalyptic Failure

Friday’s Quietude  posts will now be word-free, random, original photography because it’s the end of the week and we all deserve a break from wordiness. If you like, feel free to make up a story about the photo and post it in the comments section.

Tuesday’s Gratitude  posts: will now be dedicated to the topic of gratitude; namely the who and what I am grateful for in my life. It seems like we never talk about gratitude because doing so is perceived to be some kind of weakness but that has to be a thinking error. Gratitude is an important and potentially life saving mental hygiene skill.

Imagination (creative writing) Thursday’s posts: will be dedicated to poetry and possibly other creative writing endeavors as time goes by. Be warned, the poetry, Gothic poetry to be exact, is really old, dark and scary, not particularly great, and comes with the following warning message: 

TRIGGER WARNING. THIS IS GOTHIC POETRY; DARK THEMED POETRY THAT IS GENERALLY CONSIDERED MACABRE, FRIGHTENING, AND/OR DEPRESSING. DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE PRONE TO MENTAL ILLNESSES, ESPECIALLY ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION. YOUR LIFE IS MORE IMPORTANT TO ME THAN YOUR OPINION OF A REALLY OLD PIECE OF POETRY.

And just to be clear, some of it was written while under the influence of 80’s metal music, and early, mid, and late 90’s American Gothic sub-culture in general. I do have even darker stuff but that won’t likely be published here as it was heavily influenced by anger and grief, and that would be triggering for anybody and everybody.  The Thursday’s posts will also be optional on the schedule; I simply may not have the time to write new pieces once I run out of old pieces. But I will try.

If you feel inclined to do so, I am volunteering with a local animal rescue group called Forever Friends Foundation here in Cleveland Ohio, and we are currently working out plans to stage a large emergency TNR mission for ferals, and rescue/foster for “friendlies” and kittens in a bad area of town where the kittens and friendlies are being brutalized and killed by some (by no means all) local people; possibly children.
